MAYHEM IN THE MEATH 2
August 25th, 2012 - Meath, Ireland

Once again, IKF Promoter Mick Burke put together a first class Kickboxing and K-1 event in the beautiful Pillo Hotel in Ashbourne, Co. Meath. Even though it was the height of the summer, the supporters came in droves to roar on their fighters. The asthenosphere was amazing and with a total of eleven exciting bouts on the card including four IKF All Ireland Titles, they certainly got their moneys worth.

The title fights were all set for five rounds and due to excellent matchmaking, they all went the distance and had the audience holding their breath for the decisions. IKF Ireland prides itself with having the best possible contenders go forward for title fights. Some of the fighters are required to fight eliminator bouts at previous promotions around the country to even have a chance of being considered for a title shot. This is why the IKF are leaders in stand up combat sports in Ireland with many MMA clubs looking to get involved as they are attracted by the low kick and K-1 rules bouts.

Mr. Burke would like to thank all the fighters, coaches, fight fans, sponsors, medical staff, DJ, MC, Glove Runners, The Pillo Hotel Management & Staff, the International Kickboxing Federation (IKF), the set up crew and indeed anyone who helped make it such great nights Kickboxing.

SPECIAL NOTICE FROM IKF IRELAND
The IKF is the only sanctioning body in the World that provides clear results, fighters stats and more importantly, recommended medical suspensions for any fighter that was stopped or KO'd
IKF Ireland and other IKF associate countries provide this same information by email, Facebook, (In Ireland: the Black Dragon Website) and of course, the IKF Website.
In Ireland, this information is sent to all the other promoters and sanctioning bodies. The reason for this is so that other promoters (regardless who they sanction with) will know at a glance if a fighter is fit to compete on one of their events or not. Its shameful in this day and age that some promoters actually run their events WITHOUT having certified, licensed officials and qualified medical staff .
Any coach who lets their fighter's compete on these events is extremely irresponsible. If there is no certified, licensed, professional doctor on duty throughout the evening to oversee the event and carry out the Pre-fight medicals at any Kickboxing or related fight sport event then the coach and fighter's should turn around and go home! If a so called promoter doesn't do their best to provide the fighters on his/her show with the best possible medical cover just to save a few Euros ($$), then surely they are not worth dealing with.

IKF/ ISCF
Latin America

We would like to announce the appointment of Mr. Milton Marin (Right) as our new IKF Muay Thai Kickboxing and ISCF MMA Latin America Representative. Mr. Marin possesses copious amounts of the personal qualities and professional experience necessary to successfully serve as a Representative to the IKF and ISCF in Latin America. Latin America is a region where both the IKF and ISCF currently lack sufficient representation for the sports of Muay Thai, Kickboxing and MMA.

Mr. Marin, a citizen and resident of Costa Rica, is the owner and Director of Operations for MMA Costa Rica, which at 650 active students (and growing rapidly) is the largest martial arts school in all of Latin America. In addition, he is also a licensed and practicing attorney in San Jose, Costa Rica, serves as a Pastor and Counselor to the Bishop of a very large church organization, and has a leadership position in a charity organization providing food and school supplies to impoverished children and families in Central America.

In every setting, Mr. Marin quietly commands respect in the most humble manner. This along with his leadership qualities, organizational skills, and ability to make logical decisions under pressure are just some of the reasons for his appointment. He has a professional reputation, sharp business acumen, excellent leadership skills, and strong moral character.

Through Mr. Marin's efforts and with his influence and recognition within Latin America, the IKF and ISCF hope to expand its' already impressive worldwide footprint, increase it's fighter registration base, and accurately record and report fight records.

Assisting in Mr. Marin growth will be former IKF World Classic Champion and current IKF Representative, Eric Parker (Left) of Tampa Florida. Over the last year, Eric has developed significant experience in Latin America. His work has included, traveling to Costa Rica and Panama at least twice monthly since late last year. While there, he has worked as a coach, cornerman, manager of fighters, procurer of US fighters, negotiator of contracts on behalf of two fight promoters, consultant for the organization and improvement of fight venue operations. He has even booked UFC fighters as commentary talent for two televised fight events. He has been learning about the culture and mastering the language.

"I see a significant future for the combat sports industry in Central and Latin America, and I believe the IKF and ISCF can be a large part of the growth of the sport in the coming years." Says Parker.

In the coming months, Parker will serve the IKF and ISCF in an official capacity as he helps with training officials, event promoters, trainers and even fighters more about the regulatory aspects of the IKF and ISCF as well as the regulatory aspects of the sports of Muay Thai, Kickboxing and MMA overall. He would make sure that the highest standards of safety and professionalism would be ingrained upon the fight industry as it grows in the region.

JUST FOR THE RECORD...

Shaolin Monk KO's US Navy SEAL's Boxer IKF Champion - YouTube
NOT TRUE!

Sadly there are a load of people on the internet that take things as they are. They don't research them and seem to have no idea how to use Google to assure factual information... Well, for these individuals, which there appear to be thousands of them, we thought we would hold their hand and help them out with all their posted false information.

Take a moment to "Cut & Paste" into a Google search page, "Shaolin monk KO US Navy SEAL's Boxer IKF Champion"

What you will see is LOADS of links to the video of this fight. Funny how individuals keep re-posting the video, "Shaolin monk KO U S Navy SEAL's Boxer IKF Champion" on "LOADS" of video sites such as YouTube. However, the FACTS of this video make the websites who host the bout and those who have posted it over and over again look like idiots for not confirming the facts of the headline...

"SEVERAL" people have tried to post a "Correction" to this RIDICULOUS Video headline on YouTube and other video channels, even us here at the IKF... However, EVERY time a correction is posted, it's removed... Kind of like the Wikapedia edit team who post and cut what "THEY" want to, when "THEY" want to and in the end, the factual information can often be questionable.

Seems Yi Long's status as such was questioned back in 2010 when he "Lost" a bout by KO at 44 seconds of round 2, to an American Muay Thai fighter named Adrien Grotte of Arizona, on November 13th at Harrah's Las Vegas Casino and Hotel. For the entire article, CLICK HERE.) To see the fight, CLICK HERE.

In the above article, they (a spokesman of the Shaolin Temple) defend comments, most likely because he lost, such as "Why is Shaolin Kung Fu so weak?" and "Is Shaolin Kung Fu dying?" saying "Yi Long, who was billed as the No. 1 Shaolin Kung Fu monk, is neither a Kung Fu monk of Shaolin Temple, nor could he be named as the No.1 Shaolin Kung Fu monk at all."

Here's the funny part...
In the video entitled "Shaolin monk KO US Navy SEAL's Boxer IKF Champion" fighting a year later, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada, some of those who commented prior to the video, (Like this IDIOT saying the Monk is strong because he is on a vegetarian-vegan diet! Click Here! who adds in his print line, "A hard fast punch from a shaolin monk is said to have as much force as a heavy weight boxer like Mike Tyson." LOL!!) PRAISE him as if he's the World's Greatest Fighter and now they want to say he "IS" a Sholin Monk and go on to say WHY Shaolin Monk's are such great fighters... Go Figure...

MORE IKF RESULTS...

Results From Mr. Aaron Mc Grath's
IKF International Kickboxing & K-1 Fight Night
August 4th, 2012 - Westmeath, Ireland

History was made on Saturday night in Athlone when the towns top kickboxing Instructor and new IKF Promoter Aaron Mc Grath from the well respected Westside Kickboxing Club, brought big time International Kickboxing to the town for the first time ever. Mc Grath, who was recently crowned an Irish Champion himself when he won the title by knockout at the Helix in Dublin just two weeks ago, took the brave step of promoting an Ireland VS England International team event and also two major IKF Title fights.

The gamble paid off and Mc Grath filled the house with some 800 very vocal, very sporting and appreciative fight fans who screamed the house down in support of their fighters. The main event was an IKF Amateur Full Fontact Rules Ladies 5 Nations Bantamweight Title between Galways Yvonne Mc Nevin and Englands Kay Summer. This was a cracking contest which went right down to the wire after a blistering five rounds which ended in victory for Yvonne.

Athlones Keith Hamilton fought for the IKF All Ireland Junior Lightweight Crown in another fantastic contest against Limericks Dan O Connor and the decision and the Title went to Hamilton on this occasion.

All credit to the Athlone supporters who cheered every fighter who entered the ring regardless of whether they were home or away. The venue was top class with tiered seating and a full bar facility. Each fight had a stunning ring girl to keep all the red blooded males in the audience practicing their wolf whistles throughout the night. Huge credit must go also to Dr. Maura Grummell (known throughout the IKF as the fight doctor) as she had an unfortunate accident en route to the show but still managed to turn up and oversee the event and the safety of all the fighters.

The main sponsor of the evening was the "Food Centre" based on the Tuam Road, Galway to which we are very grateful and of course to the many sponsors on the night without which a show of this calibre would not have been possible. Indeed, the promoter Mr. Mc Grath would like to say a big thanks to the management & staff of AIT for the use of their wonderful facility. The medical staff on duty, the referees and judges, all the fighters and coaches from home and away, MC Mr. Alan Mc Nevin, the DJ, The International Kickboxing Federation and anyone else who helped make the night such a roaring success. Anyone looking to take up kickboxing, K-1 or Muay Thai in the Athlone area should contact Aaron on 085 1328205.
