As one coach said:

"This was a show that had everything. Full house of extremely vocal fight fans. Beautiful venue. Great mixture of styles from Junior Light Contact Kickboxing, Queensbury Rules IAB Boxing, International Low Kick Rules Kickboxing and of course American style Full Contact Kickboxing with both male and female fighters."

The main event was an international cracker between two absolute warriors for the IKF European Title. This bout could have graced any main event on the planet and the fight fans went wild in the aisles. Hats off to champion Gary "Slick" Manogue who never fails to impress and to French warrior David Blais who has a heart as big as a house.

The night had some great stoppages, class knockouts and technichal battles that went the distance. Adding to this were the gruelling wars as fighters went toe to toe to prove themselves in the ring of battle. As for the extras, the fighters entered the ring by way of a custom walk out ramp that gave them a chance to stand out before their performance in the ring. This event was organised to a tee and along with the great fight action it included all the props such as free finger food for the punters and a National TV station to cover it as highlights went out the next day on the news. "It was one of those shows that was a pleasure to promote with the only hiccup being that the ambulance was late." Said promoter Pete Foley. "We still had it all wrapped up in three hours. After all, fight fans want action and not have to wait 10 or 15 minutes between bouts."

WINNER: Manogue won by unanimous decision. 50-41, 50-41, 50-41.

Gary Manogue will now go on to fight for the IKF Amateur FCR World Super Welterweight Title most likely on 7th December.

One possible opponent that has been talked about for Manogue is the fighter who gave him is one and only defeat. At last years 2012 IKF World Classic in Orlando Florida, Manogue made the decision to come up a full weightclass. In doing so he found himself on the recieving end of a head kick from Nathan Key of Augusta, Georgia, USA (33-3/17, AMMA: 4-1) The head kick KO won Key the 2012 World Classic Light Middleweight (153.1 Lbs. - 159 Lbs. - 69.6 Kg - 72.3 Kg) Full Contact Rules title. The win was Key's "7th" IKF Tournament win setting a new Tournament record.

If Key can drop down to the Super Welterweight division (147.1 Lbs. - 153 Lbs. - 66.9 Kg - 69.5 Kg) he just may be considered for the title which would make some interesting stories leading up to such a match. However, such a match-up would only take place if the number 2 ranked Super Welterweight can't do it. That would be 2012 World Classic champion, Marco Capobianco (R) of Oakville Ontario, Canada (32-8). Rounding out the other 3 in the top 5 of the Super Welterweight division are Romain Beranger of Paris, France (14-5). However, he would not be considered as a possible challenger for the title since Manogue already defeated him when he won his IKF European title on November 24th, 2012 in Galway, Ireland by TKO at 48 seconds into round three.

Another top 5 ranked Super Welterweight who would not be a challenger for Manogue would be Charlie Ward of Galway, Ireland (15-5-1/4) since he too is trained by the same trainer as Manogue, Peter Foley. The number 5 contender, Mouim Issilahy also of St Martin, France (22-5) may be Manogue's other option if Capobianco turns down the title shot.

Regardless who will be standing across the ring from Manogue, the bout will take place in Leisureland, Salthill, Galway on December 7th. The venue is an excellent choice. It seats a thousand plus and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. There will be an action packed undercard of Irelands finest and hardest hitters on this prestigious event and tickets will go on sale at least 8 weeks in advance.

"The Dragon's"
Fight Is Off!

Turkey Promoters Breach Contract!

It's happened before to many other fighters, but to happen to someone as well known as Don "The Dragon" Wilson is a little more than disrespectful. More of a slap in the face or promotional suicide for the names of those involved on the event Promotional side.

As we reported back on March 7th of this year, 11 Time World Champion Kickboxer and former IKF World Champion Don "The Dragon" Wilson had been confirmed to fight one more time on an IKF Sanctioned Kickboxing event in Istanbul, Turkey. Wilson's bout was to be a 10 round non title bout under K-1 rules.

The event had been scheduled for September 28th and was to be promoted by WMW Productions as "Victory Night 2013 Istanbul" "Dragon Jubilee". The promoters also made claims they had the famous Sinan Erdem Arena in Istanbul, Turkey booked. Wilson even made a trip over to Turkey to attended a press conference held and sponsored by the Ramada Istanbul Asia Hotel to promote the launch of the event. (See Photo Below)

However today it was announced today that Wilson's agent, Ray Cavaleri that his bout at the proposed "Jubilee Night" in Istanbul has been cancelled due to "breach of contract and non-performance of financial agreements".

"I am VERY disappointed because I've been training very hard and was hoping to compete in, like my TRADITIONZ shirts say, 'ONE MORE FIGHT'. Says Wilson. "I am in contact with the Russian DRAKA Federation and may have some exciting news regarding their "re-entry" as a combat sport in the US."

If Draka finally makes the decision to come back to the USA, the IKF and Wilson will be a part of what they want to do. Wilson and IKF President Steve Fossum were brought to Russia this past fall to see the Draka Promotion and meet the Promoters.

"It's a great style of fighting since they added in the 30 seconds ground fighting rule." said Fossum. "A much more exciting fighting style than it was 15 years ago when the action stopped after the throw."

Watch for more info on this in the coming months...

Closing in On 200...
And Still Counting

The First of several registration Deadlines is tomorrow, Friday, May 24th at 5:PM. Last year we had 240 registered fighters by end of "FIRST" Deadline for the 2012 IKF World Classic...

We just got done tonight logging in all the fighters who registered yesterday, Wednesday, May 22nd and we stand at 109. However, we couldn't leave tonight before doing a quick count of how many more we registered today. Although today's registrations are not posted yet, once counted, we stand at 180 registered fighters for this years 15th Annual, 2013 IKF World Classic.

Keep in mind, tomorrow is the first of multiple deadlines so we are sure to be busy registering even more fighters tomorrow. How busy you wonder? Well, last year the 2 day prior mark was 104 as compared to this years 2 day out number being at 109. Adding in todays 71 registrations we stand at 180 as we close in on last years first deadline record breaking day of 240 total fighters.

There will be plenty of fighters making the World Classic between now and the final registration deadline of 5:00 PM/PST, Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013! The question we have for you now is are you already committed to "Walk the Walk" or are you still waiting to see who your competition will be? Don't wait too long or this opportunity will simply slip away while your still thinking whether or not you want to win a "World Classic" title, or settle for less. Of course it's your decision, but in the end, just don't be that fighter that ends up saying... "I wonder if...?"

Check out the 2013 the REGISTERED FIGHTERS PAGE - (Click) as the numbers continue to grow.

IKF PRO K1 RULES
EUROPEAN FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE

Natalie Bee
(Poole, England, 17-2-1, 57.7kg, 5'8", 11-26-81, John Orchard / Carl Sams, 01202294223)
VS
Lisa Schewe
(Oburhausen, Germany, 29-6, 57.7kg, 5'5", 09-20-89, Ramon Logisch, 00447855473223)
WINNER: Natalie Bee by split decision 49-47, 47-48, 50-46.

This much anticipated re-match between 2 premier female fighters did not disappoint the packed audience at the 02 in Bournemouth. Bee had previously dominated in their first meeting under Full Contact Rules, but on this occasion we stepped into Schewes territory of low kicks and knees. This was a bold move for Bee, having only crossed over to K1 rules in the last 5 months but her pedigree as a 3 x world champion in Full Contact, and Schewes several versions of the European title, made this a credible encounter.

Round 1 saw Bee start fast with punch and low kick combinations. Schewe carefully placed her own low kicks as she found her range and mid round she began to up the power. Her boxing skills had also improved but were not at Bee's level. By the end of the round Bee's lead leg was already marked up as was Schewe's face.

Round 2 was much the same. Schewe stepped up and Bee went with her, throwing punch combinations and kicks. She was not yet comfortable in the clinch and Schewe began to exploit this. It was Schewe's low kicks and knees verses Bees punching and all round kicking.

With Bee 2 rounds up, the German stepped up another gear in the 3rd and Bee went with her again. This was now an absolute war that showed the clear differences between the fighters. Schewe was the comfortable seasoned low kicker whilst Bee was the new kid on the K1 rules block who was prepared take any amount of punishment in order to give it back.

It was an absorbing battle that continued through the 4th and 5th with an amazing variety of combinations from each fighter. A solid punch combination opened Bee's nose but her response was to come back with 8 unanswered punches of her own. At the final bell both were convinced that they had the decision.

A split decision went to Bee which the German team struggled to accept, but did so in the same sporting manner that they always have. Bee had the aggression, variety and the punches. Schewe had the low kicks, Bee's lead leg certainly showed the marks, and the knee strikes. You could not have argued with a decision either way but tonight Natalie Bee was crowned new IKF Champion

IKF Point Muay Thai / Kickboxing…
Set and Ready For 15th Annual, 2013 IKF World Classic!

Orlando, Florida, USA

Summer has arrived and so has the time to get registered for the 15th Annual IKF World Kickboxing Classic (July 19th, 20th and 21st). This event is one of the most prestigious events for amateur Muay Thai Fighters and Kickboxers in the world and will be held at the beautiful Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida! Those who are in the know - know that this event is one that should not be missed especially by those serious about their future as well as adding the words of IKF World Classic Champion to their resume.

The ever-growing IKF Point Muay Thai / Kickboxing Division has been growing in leaps and bounds in the past few years at the World Classic. The more competitors the better the competition…so start making your plans now! As usual, we expect an even bigger group to enter for later registration which is as late as Saturday - July 20th at 12: Noon. The competition will start at 6: PM and will be the evening entertainment for the World Classic. There will be a $3 spectator fee.

Men, Women and Children as young as 5 years old up through our Adult Senior levels can compete, as long as there is someone in their division to fight. The action will be hot but of course as always, the semi contact rule is in full affect and there are NO KNOCKOUTS ALLOWED. There will be divisions in IKF/Point Muay Thai, International Hi Kick and International Low Kick styles. However, sometimes we have to mix and match to assure everyone coming gets a fair fight.

Example of Gear Needed.
Headgear (open face with cheek protectors also ok for juniors)
12 oz for kids and 16 oz Boxing gloves for adults are mandatory.
Groin protection, shin and instep guards and Double mouth piece.
See more at www.IKFPKB.com

All trainers and coaches who are planning on bringing fighters to compete in IKFPKB really need to know the difference in this competition and what will be going on in the main arena. The semi contact rules must be paramount. If we feel there is too much power you will be warned and, or disqualified immediately depending on the intent or result. However, in saying this, we encourage you to use your speed instead of power and focus on the points and you will have a great time at this event! Moreover, BE IN SHAPE... The 2 - 2 minute rounds (With potential of 1 round of OT) is "In Effect" for this event and there is a good chance you may have more than one bout. We will modify it for the little guys, but be in shape and ready to rock as these rounds seem a lot longer than it sounds on paper... :)

THE IKF WORLD CLASSIC...
In addition to semi contact, The IKF World Classic will again have the best divisions of Full contact bouts with divisions in Muay Thai, International Hi Kick and International Low Kick styles. Hundreds of fighters will travel afar to prove one thing…they are the best! Some will come with an illusion of greatness and others will come with a vision for victory but either way, their destiny will need to be decided in the ring! As in years past, when you get a ton of fighters, trainers and pumped up fans in one room hungry for a fight and hungry for a win…It's becomes a spectacular event!

We look forward to seeing you there! Remember, Register Early and Save! Forward March!

10-Time World Champion Rick Roufus
Challenges
14-Time World Champion Evander Holyfield
To A Heavyweight Boxing Fight
The Fight of the Masters... Legend vs. Legend!

With all the changes in the world of boxing and not enough heavyweights that make for a good fight for either champion, it only made sense for the best of both worlds to collide in the fight of the decade.
With Rick Roufus at 47 years of age, 218 pounds at 6ft., and Evander Holyfiled at 50 years young, at 218 pounds and 6ft. 2 in, it was only inevitable for the two champs to finally meet in the ring.

A true traditional boxing champion, Evander Holyfield is an American professional boxer with 57 fights, 44 wins, 29 by knockout and 14 World Titles. He is the former undisputed world champion in both the Cruiserweight and Heavyweight divisions, earning him the nickname "The Real Deal". Holyfield's last bout was in May of 2011 when he defeated Brian Nielsen of Korsoer, Denmark (64-1) in Nielsen's hometown of Koncerthuset, Copenhagen, Denmark by TKO at 2:49 of round 10 in a scheduled 12 round bout. At the time all 3 judges had Holyfield ahead, 88-82.

Former 2 time IKF (International Kickboxing Federation) Pro World Champion kickboxer and holder of numerous other World titles, Rick "The Jet" Roufus is an American Kickboxing champion and one of the most famous kickboxers in the world. With 78 fights, 65 wins, 44 by knockout and 10 World Titles.

He won the IKF Pro Full Contact Rules Light Heavyweight World Title when he defeated Michael McDonald of Vancouver, BC, Canada, by "KO" at :43 seconds of round 1 at Caesars Tahoe Casino in Tahoe, Nevada on January 22nd, 1994.

On May 15th, 1999 in Lowell Massachusetts, USA he added the IKF Pro International Rules Heavyweight World title to his trophy case when he defeated Stan Longinidis of Boxhill, Victoria, Australia by TKO after Loniginidis suffered a broken bone in his foot at the end of round 9. Roufus was ahead on all 3 judges cards at the time, 89-81, 86-83 and 88-81.

In all, he won world titles as a super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight and held titles for all the major kickboxing bodies (IKF, PKA, ISKA, FFKA and KICK).

Rick also recorded 19 professional boxing fights (13-5-1 with 11 KO's) with 11 wins by knockout. On August 10th, 1996 he defeated Sean McClain (21-4-10) at the Aladdin Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA by TKO at 2:20 of round 4 to win the WBC Continental Americas Cruiserweight title.

Roufus' last bout was on October 14th, 2012 at the K-1 World Grand Prix 2012 in Tokyo, Japan. His bout was with kickboxer James Wilson and after 3 rounds the bout ended in a draw. Prior to that bout he had fought on September 8th, 2012 at the K-1 World Grand Prix in Los Angeles, USA where he defeated Mighty Mo after 3 rounds by split decision.

Trainer Freddie Roach who say's it will be a great fight also stated that with no real heavyweight match ups for these two classy fighters, this should be a great final showdown. The Roufus camp has made numerous attempts at contacting the Holyfield camp in hopes of setting this fight up for September of this year. They have sent out messages to many of Holyfield's people and they seem very interested but have not given a solid answer yet.

If the challenge is accepted by Holyfield it would match-up two of the top fighters in the world representing Professional kickboxing and professional Boxing. it would be for the first Inter-League battle of the world under traditional - Professional Boxing rules.

For additional media inquiries for Mr. Roufus, call Melissa Ingram at (602) 434-5055 or Fred Zermeno at (213) 219-1060.
